American Volt fans come configured as a puller out of the box by default. This means the fan is set to be mounted on the inside of your radiator or transmission cooler and pull air through to the engine. If you want to mount the fan on the outside and push air, you must reverse the direction of the electric fan.

To change from a puller to a pusher, you must:

  1. Remove the center hex nut and flip the blade over.
  2. Reverse the wiring - black to power and blue to ground.
